Fresno State’s Bulldog Bound program

Fresno State launched Bulldog Bound, a guaranteed admissions program designed to create a stronger pathway for regional high school students to attend college. Through this initiative, students from participating school districts who meet the minimum California State University requirements are guaranteed admission to Fresno State upon graduation. To support early engagement, the university provides resources and guidance starting as early as ninth grade. The visual identity and promotional materials developed for Bulldog Bound played a crucial role in branding the program and connecting with key audiences — high school students, their families, and district administrators. The design system extended across a wide range of branded materials, including felt pennants, lanyards, journal booklets, magnets, mouse pads, drawstring backpacks, highlighters, t-shirts, stickers, event photo backdrops, pull-up banners, and school district partnership plaques. Within nine months of launching, the program secured over 30 school district partnerships — including Fresno Unified, the third-largest district in California — and now receives thousands of student applications daily, demonstrating both the program’s reach and the strength of its visual communication.
